16 Senate Republicans: We Have to Pass the Gun Control Bill to Find Out What’s In It: "It’s not just the Senate Democrats who voted to bring the “bipartisan” Toomey-Manchin gun control compromise to the floor for a vote. After all, Pat Toomey is a Republican. And the motion to pass cloture would have failed if it weren’t for 16 Republicans who decided that the bill should be moved forward for a vote. Sure, they might cast their symbolic “no” vote once it’s actually voted on, but they could have prevented the bill from being voted on in the first place."
