Irene slams New Jersey, damage widespread | Reuters: TOMS RIVER, N.J., Aug 28 (Reuters) - Hurricane Irene swept along the New Jersey shore early on Sunday, knocking down trees, leaving thousands of people without electrical power and causing flooding.
