State Department issues worldwide travel alert as 9/11 anniversary nears - latimes.com: The U.S. State Department on Friday alerted American travelers to the ongoing possibility of terrorist threats by Al Qaeda in light of the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. However the alert isn't tied to any "specific threats," according to the agency and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
